My Buddy

We had a very sad event at our house yesterday. Our Chocolate Lab Buddy died. I'm not sure what really happened. I have had to keep him tethered so he wouldn't go over the fence. I tried to make sure he always had water and Audrey and I had started taking the dogs on walks more often. Whatever the cause, perhaps he had something we didn't know about, he is gone. Audrey has taken it hard. William isn't sure what to think. James and Joseph has asked a few questions but otherwise oblivious. He would make me so angry when he'd get out and then just keep running when I'd call or whistle for him. I feel just horrible. I did love that dog. He was a gorgeous dog.

I noticed him not moving and went out to check. When I realized he was gone I went in and told Tom. Then did the next thing a girl does when she looses a pet. I called my Mommy and Daddy. Tom was bogged down with work and consultants and meetings. So we asked my Daddy to please come pick Buddy up and take him to the pasture for burial. The kids never saw him. Mom was coming in anyway so she came on in and brought the kids a few gifts she picked up in Washington DC while visiting my sister. We then had a party to go to and the kids stayed distracted. I had to tell them later that afternoon when Audrey noticed him gone and wanted to go searching for him.
