I commented on D'Etta's blog that I would share my Thankful Turkey with you all.
We buy our pumpkins at a local church. The people there are so great and let the kids play and enjoy. We usually end up with way too many. In an effort to enjoy the pumpkins longer we decided to not cut them all. A few years ago I decided to turn one into a turkey. Well, I kind of got the idea from my Mom. She had purchased some nice wooden pics at a craft show that you stick in a pumpkin to make a turkey.
We took our turkey to Thanksgiving Dinner and everybody had an opportunity to write on a feather what they are thankful for. The first year we used construction paper then last year we used foam. We tape or glue the foam to wooden skewers. We aim to one year have a whole flock of Thankful Turkeys.
